A PARAGLIDER was rescued by a lifeboat crew from the foot of cliffs.
Birling Gap and Newhaven coastguard teams located the casualty under the cliffs in the Hope Gap area near Seaford.
Newhaven’s Severn Class relief lifeboat was launched at 5:50pm on Wednesday to deal with the incident.
When the paraglider was found stranded underneath the cliffs the RNLI launched its inflatable Y boat with two crew members on board who returned the paraglider to Seaford beach, where coastguard were waiting.
The paraglider was uninjured and the lifeboat returned to Newhaven station at 7:10pm
