Contingency crews came to the rescue of 12 people stuck in a lift as the firefighter strike continues into its penultimate day.
Sussex firefighters again headed to the picket at 11pm last night for a two hour strike as part of their eight-day campaign of industrial action.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue service said as well as a lift rescue involving 12 people in Brighton, the other emergency back-up teams attended was a car fire in Hastings.
A further strike takes place between 5pm and 7pm today and two strikes on Monday - the first between 6am-8am and the second 5pm-7pm.
