A new family of red pandas are being well fed thanks to the generosity of a firm more than 100 miles away.
Staff from Suffolk based property management company Home from Home have completed a 250 mile round trip to donate large quantities of bamboo to the red pandas of Drusillas Park.
The firm’s Stewart Scott and Ian Boots hired a van and travelled more than three hours in the blazing heat to ensure the pandas received a fresh delivery in time for their tea on Friday.
The huge donation was recycled from one of Home from Home’s development sites in Ipswich due to a garden redesign.
The company got involved after seeing an article on the zoo’s need for bamboo which ran in The Argus in June last year.
Two new red panda cubs were born at the animal park near Alfriston in June – the first in the zoo’s 89 year history.
