ARMY Reservists from Sussex have been honing and demonstrating their military skills.

Members of the 3rd Battalion The Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment carried out a variety of tasks and scenarios, including fighting in wooded terrain and carrying out a clearance operation.

The regiment has bases across the south east, including B Company, which has centres in Brighton and Eastbourne.

They tested out their skills during exercises on Salisbury Plain. During the exercise, Baroness Fiona Hodgson of Abinger visited the soldiers to see for herself how they were training and to have an opportunity to speak to them first-hand about their experience in the Army Reserve.

The Baroness, a member of the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme, said she was extremely impressed with the enthusiasm and professionalism of the individuals and of the unit as a whole.
