A Commemorative bench is set to be moved after becoming a gathering place for street drinkers.
The bench in Westbourne Gardens, Hove, was donated to the community by a daughter in memory of her late father who was a First World War hero and a long-time resident of the street.
But after consultations with residents, ward councillors Graham Cox and Denise Cobb have agreed to an offer by the daughter to fund the bench’s renovation at a new site away from street drinkers.
A formal request for the bench’s relocation is now to be made with favoured alternative spots either at the front of Hove Museum or in the grounds of Aldrington Hospital.
