A FIRE has laid waste to a huge pile of animal waste.
A large quantity of dung caught fire in a farmer’s field near Cissbury Ring, off Nepcote Road in Findon, at 6.50am yesterday.
Firefighters from Storrington and Worthing used two hose reels to tackle the blaze in an operation lasting an hour and a half.
It was unclear how the dung caught fire. However, firefighters said it was not started deliberately.
