THE largest jousting and medieval tournament in Europe has returned to Arundel.
The Arundel Castle International Jousting and Medieval Tournament, which kicked off on Tuesday, continues until Sunday.
Set against the backdrop of Arundel Castle, itself a medieval stronghold built at the end of the 11th century, the event sees ‘knights’ from around the world gather to test their combat skills in full plate armour.
As the reigning champions, the Kingdom of England are fighting to retain their title.
Challenging them are determined French opponents and two new teams: the Kingdom of Poland and the Burgundian Alliance.
The final day includes prize-giving by Angela Standing, deputy mayor and town crier of Arundel.
Tickets range from £10 up to £49.
