A man was stabbed in the arm during an argument.

Police were called to Skelmersdale Walk in Bewbush, Crawley, shortly after 4pm yesterday.

A large group of people were reported to be behaving suspiciously.

A few minutes later, the ambulance service reported they were attending an incident where a 22-year-old man had received knife wounds to his left arm.

He was taken to hospital and due to be transferred to a specialist plastic surgery unit at the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead.

A 26-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy, both from Crawley, were arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and possession with intent to supply a Class A drug. 

Both are still in custody this morning.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident or anyone who saw the group in the Bewbush area in the time leading up to or after the attack, which is believed to have taken place in a field next to Breezehurst Drive.
