A CHARITY auction of children’s artwork raised over £2,000.

Children of all ages were invited to Create a Masterpiece for Macmillan, which could be a picture of anything in any medium.

The best pictures were put on display at Leaders letting agents for attendees to place bids on.

David Thorne, Leaders’ Brighton and Hove senior branch manager, said: “Thank you to everyone who came along to our auction and supported our raffle, and a big thank you to all the children whose fantastic artwork was sold.”

The highest bid of the evening was £310 for a striking painting of colourful beach huts by Izzy Willet, 13, from Dorothy Stringer High School in Brighton.

Leaders hosted the auction on July 18 at its branch in Western Road, Brighton.

Macmillan Cancer Support has been chosen as Leaders’ charity partner for 2014 and the letting agent pledged to raise £25,000 for the charity this year.
