AIR show organisers are calling on people to give a quid to secure its future.
Collectors will be out over the four days of Airbourne in Eastbourne to collect donations to secure free future flying displays and to help Sussex charities.
A total of 30% of the proceeds will be split between the Supporting Chailey Heritage Foundation and Demelza House, with the rest going towards Airbourne.
The Give a Quid campaign is being organised this year by local hoteliers Marco and Cathy Giorgi and the rotary clubs of Eastbourne.
Cathy Giorgi said: “Airbourne has such an important impact for the town, keeping tills ringing and attracting visitors – we want to make sure it continues for years to come.
She also said: “We wouldn’t be able to display many of the aircraft without the generous donations.”
Organisers hope to top last year’s success of £27,000.
To join the collection team, call Marco and Cathy Giorgi on 01323 733162 or email giorgicathy@gmail.com.
