A Grade II listed 16th century manor house will become a wedding venue once more after a land swap deal between two councils.
Southover Grange in Lewes will soon hum again to the notes of the Bridal March after East Sussex County Council agreed to take on the building, exchanging the former records office The Maltings with Lewes District Council.
Ceremonies have not been held at the site for more than a year because of inaccessibility but a lift will be installed in a refurbishment that will see new ceremony rooms on the ground floor.
The venue will host weddings, civil partnerships, naming and citizenship ceremonies.
