A FLOODED subway has shut Worthing station to all eastbound services.
The station bore the brunt of this morning's heavy rainfall as its underpass flooded, trapping people on platforms earlier.
Fire crews from Worthing helped pump water out of the underpass.
Southern Railway says services are unable to call at Worthing in the Hove direction until further notice.
Services from Littlehampton to London via Hove, Portsmouth Harbour to Brighton and Southampton to Brighton are affected in by the closure of two platforms at Worthing station.
This morning there were long delays as the network operators battled with flooding and electricity supply problems caused by lightning strikes.
