CRICKET lovers have been placed on high-alert after six golden balls were hidden across the city.

Six lucky people who come across the balls will get free entry for two to watch Sussex Sharks in their upcoming Royal London One Day Cup matches at the BrightonandHoveJobs.com County Ground in Hove.

Each ball has a phone number that must be called to get official verification and to claim the prize.

Sussex bowler Jon Lewis said: “The balls are all hidden at ground level in safe places across Brighton and Hove.

“If you keep your eyes peeled and go out and about you might just find your golden ticket to free cricket.

He added: “What better way to spend a weekend than to go out for a walk, enjoy some fresh air and possibly find a golden cricket ball that will open the doors to some spectacular cricket at the home of the Sussex Sharks.

The lucky finders will get to watch matches on August 5, 8 and 20.

The balls must be found by August 5 when the first Royal London Cup match takes place at The BrightonandHovejobs.com County Ground.
