SOUTHERN Rail is continuing to run a severely disrupted service after a person was hit by a train this afternoon.

There have been delays and cancellations all afternoon after the a person was hit in the Earlswood area in Surrey.

Tickets are being accepted on alternative First Capital Connect and Gatwick Express train services between Brighton and London.

The following operators are also accepting Southern tickets: MetroBus on routes 100, 200, 405 and 430 between Horsham, Three Bridges, Redhill and Purley including Reigate.

South West Trains on services between Clapham Junction and Southampton / Portsmouth / Dorking Southeastern on services between Tonbridge and London.

Such sad news. Imagine how desperate this human being must have felt when they woke up this morning; the decision being made; the walk to the train tracks...

What can I say? I hope the victim's relatives and friends find strength in the months ahead to comes to terms with their loss.
