The dramatic weather of the last few weeks has provided some spectacular sights – but perhaps none more so than this.
The incredible light show was captured by amateur photographer Adrian Campfield, from Bexley, Kent.
The 59-year-old was sitting down to dinner with his wife Louise at a restaurant near Beachy Head when he grabbed his camera and rushed outside.
He said: "I had to work fast because the light and rays were changing all the time. The atmosphere and moods were fantastic.
"Such locations offer lots of lovely colours and reflections and the ambient light in these spots can be bounced off everything.
"I have taken pictures of rays before but never like this. It brought to mind sequences from the film 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind'.”
