The “biggest and best” Fulking Fair saw 2,000 people have a “tremendous” time.

The event, at Downside Meador in Fulking on Sunday, hosted traditional fair stalls, including a coconut shy and sack races as well as the more unusual ferret racing.

Treasurer of Fulking Social Committee Bob Rowland called it the biggest and best ever and was thankful the weather held off.

He said: “If it would’ve been a day later it could’ve been a disaster.

“The music was better than it’s ever been and it was just an absolutely tremendous day. I honestly believe there is no fair in Sussex better than ours now.

“The villagers and ex-villagers all pull together and create a wonderful sense of community.”
