PARALYMPIC athlete Sophia Warner will be launching a major charity walk later this year.

The A2B walk in aid of The Dame Vera Lynn Trust for children with cerebral palsy will take place on September 13.

The walk starts from Arundel Castle and spans across the South Downs before finish at Devil's Dyke on the outskirts of Brighton. People can choose to do a 35km or 12km route.

Events fundraiser Catherine Bristow said: “I am thrilled that Sophia is supporting our walk again. To have a Paralympic athlete taking part is incredibly exciting and the fact that Sophia has cerebral palsy and has two young children makes it even more meaningful. She truly understands the day to day challenges children and their families face.”

The trust, based in Billingshurst, provides a specialist service for families of young children with cerebral palsy and other motor learning difficulties.

The charity receives no statutory funding and relies entirely on the support of the community to raise the £580,000 needed each year to keep going.
