Firefighters have been forced to cancel their open day after it clashed with a newly announced strike. The event was planned for August 16 at Preston Circus in Brighton, but it coincides with eight days of industrial action set to begin on August 9. Firefighters have apologised for the inconvenience but said it was hoped the event would be rearranged for a later date.
The Brighton and Hove 999 Fun Day on King’s Lawns in Hove will go ahead as planned despite coinciding with strike dates.
