Lifeboat crews rescued an empty dinghy from a busy shipping lane with the help of a Happy Bear.
Eastbourne’s all-weather lifeboat was tasked on Friday afternoon to recover an apparently abandoned 2.5 metre dinghy from the busy south west shipping lane 13 miles off the Sussex coast.
A tanker called Happy Bear stood by to mark the position and the crew recovered the dinghy.
No one was injured and it appeared the dinghy had broken loose of a tow.
