A Kenyan suffered two puncture wounds after being attacked with what police believe to be a fork.
Officers are appealing for information following the incident at 11.50pm on Friday (August 1).
The 29-year-old had been drinking with a friend in Kenilworth Road, St Leonards, when he was attacked.
He suffered two puncture wounds in what police believe to be an attack with a fork.
He was taken for treatment at Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.
A 24-year-old man from Beckenham, Kent, was arrested on suspicion of affray. He was questioned and bailed until September 23.
