A SILVER Apple MacBook Pro and a white Apple iPhone 5C were stolen from a house after the back door was left open.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the burglary at the house in Priory Road, Hastings, between 10am and 11am on Sunday 27 July.

Detective Sergeant Jason Tuck said: "Due to the hot weather a back door was left open at the person's home and unfortunately an opportunist burglar took advantage of this.

“If you saw anything or have been offered these items for sale please get in contact.”

He encouraged members of the public to register their personal belongings on the free national property register at www.immobilise.com.

He added: “This gives you the best opportunity of being reunited with your property if you are the victim of a burglary or theft."
