A LEADING Beatles tribute band will be plugging in their guitars to support a bid to keep a historic theatre as a live performance venue.
The Vox Beatles will play The Cubar in Preston Street, Brighton, on Friday in aid of community group Our Brighton Hippodrome.
The gig will raise money for a newly launched fighting fund for the group, which is looking to open the Brighton Hippodrome as a live performance venue to host West End shows.
Last month Brighton and Hove City Council’s planning committee granted permission to turn the disused site into an eight-screen Vue cinema but the final decision on whether to call in the plans rests with the Department for Communities and Local Government.
Tickets for the gig are £10 on the door. For more information on the campaign visit www.ourhippodrome.org.uk.
