Tributes have been paid to a teenager who died when he was hit by a train.

Flowers and messages of condolence have been left outside Wivelsfield Station, where he was killed last Thursday evening.

The 16-year-old, named locally as Taylor James ‘TJ’ Sibley, is believed to have been a pupil at Warden Park School, Cuckfield.

Two days before his death, he posted a message on Facebook saying his life had been made a misery, said to be due to bullying.

One note left with a bunch of flowers on Monday was signed by “Big Sister Cara”, thought to be his sister Cara Coates.

It read: “RIP little Bro. I can’t believe you’re gone but you’ll never be forgotten.

“We have had some great memories.“You had a smile on your face even when life got hard.

“You were full of life and happiness. Love you little bro.”

On Facebook, Cara added: “You never deserved to die at 16 or the way you did go, sorry little bro xxxxxxxxxxxx.”

The boy’s death was not treated as suspicious and police await the verdict of a coroner on the cause.

A profoundly tragic death. There must be something wrong with society when children start committing suicide.
This death affects everyone, but his family must be broken-hearted.

I hope the bullying is being investigated and the little *hits who did it have a little think about how they might avoid driving people to suicide in the future. It's not hard to avoid making people miserable to the point of breaking. That a child should take their own life because of unbearable bullying is the failure of adults, not the child. This happens too often.

Absolutely tragic. RIP TJ ..my thoughts with you and your family. Children need to be children - this casual acceptance of bullying has to stop and these deaths prevented.

Poor kid. I just wish you could show them that school is over fast, and the rest of their lives will be great.

It's just so hard to see it at that age. Especially when lumbering goons are making your life a misery.

I am a friend of the big sister Cara, she didn't want her personal words to her wonderful brother published all over the paper, they were personally for TJ.
They could have asked her permission first. Instead she found out by someone mentioning it to her that HER words were in the paper.
Totally disrespectful from your side Argus.

I'm sorry, but her note to her brother was placed in the public domain by herself, so her permission for it to be reported wasn't required......she actually wanted the public to know of her thoughts.

Those who wish to keep their thoughts private at such awful times manage to do so.

What really angers me about these events is that those who are pouring forth their alleged feelings towards the deceased are the very people who COULD have told him that his life had meaning.

He posted a cry for help on Bacefook two whole days before he took his own life......where was the support from those who are now telling us that they valued him?

I suspect that 95% of those 'tributes' are from those who feel guilty about failing him in the hour of his greatest need.

I feel sickened for his family and loved ones, I'm angry at the manner of his death (the poor train driver must be going through hell) but I am furious at the failure of those around him to prevent his death AFTER being warned about it.

Yes you keep saying that. Maybe you'd like to explain in full detail how being voted down proves that you're right? Can you manage that? Nope thought not. All it's really an admission of is that everyone hates you and hates your nasty little views.

I didn't say that a thumbs down 'proves me right'.

I said that it is an admission that someone thinks I'm right but they don't want to admit that.

Let's hope that's clear to the stupid people on here.

Heartbreaking. Desperately tragic. RIP this poor soul and I hope all concerned who are left behind get any help they need.
If people feel so strongly then perhaps, instead, do just one good deed for a stranger, or neighbour you don't know, (without gain to yourself or payment/employment) and ask only that they consider a way to do the same for others.
This young man's pain, and the sadness left, will not be offset by any quantity of remorse from tormentors and their kind - but if some blind and altruistic kindness prevents another such tragedy then let's get started now.
Downgrading a crime as 'bullying' just because of a persons age speaks much about some trusted organisations that really should know better.

Kindly show a little respect to the deceased and his family, as it's plain you don't care a jot about them.

How nice to be back at school. You wouldn't be a union rep. for City Clean or something similar, would you? Your apparent love of diversity doesn't seem to extend to different opinions.
