Tributes have been paid to a teenager who died when he was hit by a train.

Flowers and messages of condolence have been left outside Wivelsfield Station, where he was killed last Thursday evening.

The 16-year-old, named locally as Taylor James ‘TJ’ Sibley, is believed to have been a pupil at Warden Park School, Cuckfield.

Two days before his death, he posted a message on Facebook saying his life had been made a misery, said to be due to bullying.

One note left with a bunch of flowers on Monday was signed by “Big Sister Cara”, thought to be his sister Cara Coates.

It read: “RIP little Bro. I can’t believe you’re gone but you’ll never be forgotten.

“We have had some great memories.“You had a smile on your face even when life got hard.

“You were full of life and happiness. Love you little bro.”

On Facebook, Cara added: “You never deserved to die at 16 or the way you did go, sorry little bro xxxxxxxxxxxx.”

The boy’s death was not treated as suspicious and police await the verdict of a coroner on the cause.
