Rolls-Royce is to produce a new open-top car.
The company has begun work on the new project at their Goodwood headquarters and expect the model to go on sale by mid-2016.
Rolls said the new car will build on the success of the company's Phantom, Ghost and Wraith models.
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars chief executive, Torsten Muller-Otvos, said the announcement of the new car opened "an exciting new chapter" in the company's history.
He said: "We are currently developing an exciting and thoroughly contemporary interpretation of a pinnacle drophead tourer which will introduce even more discerning men and women to Rolls-Royce ownership."
More details of the car are expected over the coming months, with the new model likely to cost well over £200,000.
The announcement has come shortly after publication of Rolls-Royce figures which showed the BMW-owned company sold a record 1,968 cars in the period January to June - a 33% rise on the same period last year.
