Police searching for shop conman
Police are searching for a man who has been trying to con shop owners.
The man has been going into shops in Lewes before taking stock from displays, damaging it and trying to ask for a refund.
He visited Wickle on July 20 and Bunce & Co and InterSport on July 22. He was not successful in getting a refund on any of the occasions.
The man is described as between 40 and 60, 5' 10" to 6' 2" with short grey hair and yellow stained teeth.
PC Claire Underwood said: “We would like to alert independent shop keepers to this scam and ask anyone who has information or who has been a victim to call on 101 quoting serial 938 of 20/7."
