A GRANDFATHER has published a collection of short stories for children in aid of the hospice which cared for his wife.
Terry Gould will donate all proceeds of The Seaside Adventure to St Barnabas House in Worthing and the Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice near Arundel. It is the first of a four-part series of short stories for children, with the other three instalments set to be published soon.
Mr Gould, 73, from Steyning, wrote the stories – aimed at three to seven-year-olds – for his two grandchildren while his daughter and her family lived in Hong Kong.
He would send the stories in instalments and his daughter would read the stories to the children at bedtime.
Mr Gould’s wife Mary died three years ago after receiving end-of-life care at St Barnabas House and the family have been raising money for the hospice ever since.
The book is available for £4.50 from all St Barnabas House and Chestnut Tree House shops and from the St Barnabas reception.
