A nightclub is giving out flip-flops to women who cannot get home in their own shoes.
Prizm nightclub in West Street, Brighton, will give customers beach shoes to help them on their way.
The street is one of the busiest in Brighton and Hove for crimes related to drink.
Police said more than 28 violent and sexual crimes have taken place in the street so far this year.
A spokeswoman for the venue said: “We are giving them out at the end of the evening, perhaps because they are wearing high heels or are finding it hard to walk.
“It’s not necessarily because they are drunk, just because they have sore feet.
“Most girls wear high heels on a night out I would think.”
