Severe weather warnings have been issued for this afternoon and early evening as rain welcomes in the weekend.
The Met Office is forecasting heavy isolated showers for later on this afternoon and yellow weather warnings are in place from 11am to 8pm today.
A spokesman for the Met Office said: "Early isolated showers will become heavier, more numerous and perhaps thundery, although they will be less widespread than on Thursday."
Beach-goers will be disappointed as the unsettled weather looks set to continue over the weekend as forecasts say it will be be cloudly and cool but set to stay dry.
Sunday and the start of next week is forecast to be "unseasonably cool and windy".
