Police bosses joined their Bobbies on the beat.

About 80 officers took part in Sussex Police’s All Out Day on August 8 swapping usual places of work for visible roles.

Deputy Chief Constable Olivia Pinkney said: “I am delighted with the enthusiasm and energy shown by all those who joined Operation Maximum.

“I joined a road policing unit carrying out static roadside checks in Haywards Heath, where we saw one arrest for drink-driving.”
