Macmillan Cancer Support said that there are wide regional variations in the proportion of patients who do not survive a year after diagnosis.
Crawley was identified as having one of the worst cancer survival rates in the country.
In the area 38% of patients diagnosed with cancer die within a year.
Juliet Bouverie, director of services and influencing at Macmillan Cancer Support, urged all political parties to make tackling cancer a top priority at the general election next year.
