Flooded park reopens to public

First published in News

A popular park has reopened after being shut following severe flooding.

Homefield Park in Worthing was closed at the end of July after a month's worth of
rain fell in the space of an hour, overwhelming local drainage systems.

Extensive work has been carried out to clean the flood-affected areas in the park,
with the playground, skate park and paths having all been disinfected.

However people using the park, particularly the grassed areas, are advised
to wash their hands afterwards, especially before eating and drinking, as a
precaution.

The Argus is obviously being run by an absolute minimum of staff these days... all these stories accompanied by the same generic pictures.

The employment of a roving photographer wouldn't be a bad idea...

I understand the last one was nearly arrested for taking photogaphs down West Street so it's not likely.

Are you suggesting that the pensioner with a hip replacement holding the umbrella is not a regular user of the playground and skate park?

How very dare you!
