First published in News

A car left the road and ploughed into a hedge, fence and concrete post before driving off.

The vehicle badly damaged the fence and concrete post after the incident in West Meads Drive, Bognor, between 8pm and 8.30pm on Friday.

Parts of the car were left at the scene and it has been identified as a red or maroon Renault.

Police want to speak to witnesses or anyone with information about the incident. In particular detectives want to speak to a woman who was walking dogs in the area and knocked on the house owners’ door to report what she had seen.

Please email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting serial 1575 of 08/08 if you have any information.

The story makes it sound like the car did this all by itself. I know driverless cars are on the way but they're not common yet. Surely some person was responsible for all the damage!

It is an offence for a car to leave the scene of an accident?
