A man in his 80s stood on a fourth floor window ledge "threatening to jump".

Sussex Police were called to the scene in Wilbury Road, Hove, to reports of the man standing on a window ledge this morning just before 10am.

The man agreed to come down and was rescued by firefighters just before 10.30am.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "Police called upon East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service to assist with a man who was threatening to jump from a building in Hove on Monday morning (August 18).

"The man, in his 80s, was reported to be on a fourth floor window ledge in Wilbury Road at 9.57am. Police officers engaged with him and he agreed to firefighters using an aerial platform to bring him down, which they did shortly before 10.30am.

"Wilbury Road was closed for a short time while the man was brought down. It re-opened at 10.55am."

Do you?

I've seen one post from you. It consisted of an attack on another poster which is a breach of site rules.

I was making a point that the police are far too quick to seal off roads yet are remarkably slow at getting the traffic moving again.

It was a simple point, but not simple enough for some, apparently.
