A group of teenagers are giving something back to their community to get off the streets this summer.
The four-week government funded programme is part of the National Citizen Service summer programme.
Billie Aslett, 17, said: “Our community project is to improve and renovate the Young Mans Christian Association’s allotment and garden plot in Portslade.
“Fifteen of us will be giving up our time to put 30 hours into helping to improve the allotment, doing such things as cutting and weeding the grass, improving the fire pit and seating area, building a pathway and reconstructing the pond.”
