A medical school has appointed a new dean.
Malcolm Reed, a leading academic surgical oncologist, will join Brighton and Sussex Medical School.
The school is run jointly by the universities of Brighton and Sussex in partnership with the NHS. Professor Reed has worked in cancer research with more than 200 publications. His main current area of research relates to surgical management of breast cancer.
He said: “I look forward to helping the medical school build on superb achievements during its first ten years.
Prof Reed replaces founding dean Jon Cohen, who stepped down in 2013.
