A campaign to build a First World War monument has received a boost from a council.

The Royal Sussex Regimental Association has received £500 towards its fund for the building of The Priez Memorial in France in memory of the 7,302 officers killed during the First World War.

The council has also awarded £1,000 to Southgate Community Forum and Talk Broadfield has received a grant of £919 for two projects designed to help residents report local issues.
