A man has been arrested in connection with two sexual assaults on buses in the Brighton area.

On July 28, a 15-year-old girl was on the number 2 bus when a man got on at North Street and sat next to her and stroked her leg.

On July 29, a 12-year-old girl was travelling on the number 27 bus from Saltdean when a man sat next to her and touched her leg twice.

Also on the same day a 13-year-old girl was travelling on the number 12 bus from Peacehaven when a man sat next to her and stroked her leg.

Another sexual assault in the Newhaven area has also come to light.

On August 9, a 19-year-old woman was travelling towards Newhaven when a man has put his hand on her leg.

On all four occasions the young women have got off the bus to get away from the man who touched them and reported it to police.

A 62-year-old man from Peacehaven has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault for the first two incidents and has been bailed until September 23 while investigations continue.

Police are appealing for any information or anyone else who has seen a man acting suspiciously on buses to contact police on 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or 101 quoting Op Eskimo.
