FOOD inspectors have given a kebab shop the lowest possible hygiene score after discovering a rat infestation.

Kebab Nite in London Road, Brighton, scored zero out of five after the finding by council inspectors on July 21.

Hygiene officers found rat droppings at the shop, which prides itself on “catering for everybody”, and told management to urgently improve standards. However, manager Hasan Ilhan said he had been “cleaning every night” since the inspection and the rats must have found their way through a hole in a back door.

He said: “I have been here for two years and this has never happened before. When I found out I felt unwell. I was disappointed.

“The inspector found rat droppings and we then got in our own poison man, who caught two rats. They were found in the store room but there is no food kept in there.

“The food inspector came again on Wednesday to check how we were getting on. I am keeping my fingers crossed for a better score this time as we have cleaned everything up.”

Ky Mossman, of Terminate Pest Control in Brighton, said the city was prone to rats because it has many old buildings. He said: “There are a lot of old builds in Brighton and Hove that rats can get into easily by making holes in doors – especially in basements.

“They’re given easy access because of this. Once they’re in, they urinate everywhere and obviously leave droppings all over the place which is hazardous to health.

“The advice would be to check for any signs where rats could gain access and block it up. If you think you have an infestation, you need to get it dealt with sharply.”

You did in an earlier post which has now been removed and that is a fact, rather than just an opinion, I know you are unable to distinguish between the two. What you do is post a stupid and sometimes racist comment then deny it by trying to construct a completely senseless argument. To be ignorant or ill-informed can be forgiven as people can be educated, but to deliberately lie is unforgivable. And you always end up looking totally confused, hateful and foolish. The actual comment was something like 'immigrants to these shores should be told our food laws.'

At no point did I state that the owners of this shop were immigrants.

So no lies from me, and once again I've made you look stupid. Don't you ever tire of that?

I reported them Stevo!, as I felt they were racist and offensive. Guess the Argus mods agreed.
There's nothing racist about ensuring that newcomers to these shores are acquainted with our laws relating to food hygiene when they seek to open food outlets.

Some people are too stupid to spot that.

I think we can all agree, this guy is a sad case who has little else to do with his life. Maybe it's time to stop responding to him again. Just report all his racist cr@p until the moderators wake up and ban him.

Not half as unwell as some of his customers, no doubt. And disappointed at being caught out.

But just one glance at some of these grubby looking takeaway shops should be enough to put any sensible person off. And, yes, they should be shut down. It is such a feeble exciuse to blame the old buildings of Brighton. There are plenty of others that do keep to very high standards of hygeine. They should all do so.
The owner wasn't blaming the old building, it was the pest control bloke.
Yes, I did realise that. Perhaps I should have made it clear that I was referring to the pest control bloke, whose comment seems to be more out of control.

Ah poor Stevo!! Still deliberately conflating correlation with causation. Do you want me to type slower so you can follow my argument with your finger or are you able to just form the words with your lips as you read them?
This is the sort of person who supports Israels murderous campaigns. Plantpot, Hursthill are you proud to have this twit on your side?
Or maybe this is the sort of person who recognises Israel's determination to protect its citizens from the continous onslaught.by rockets, and via tunnels, from an even more murderous regime

It reveals his racist nature. Note how he had no idea where that person originated - all that he wanted was for that person to go back there.
