TWO brothers have been given the go-ahead to convert former Turkish baths into a world-class BMX and skateboarding facility.
Business partners Richard and Marc Moore, of bike retailers The Source Hastings, have been given the go ahead to develop the White Rock Baths on Hastings seafront.
The overhaul will be funded by Hastings Borough Council, East Sussex County Council, the Foreshore Trust and the businessmen themselves, using a mixture of grants and loans to a total of £1.17 million.
Hastings Borough Council will soon be carrying out works to the near-derelict old baths under the promenade, which have also been used as ice and roller-skating rinks, to make the building useable before The Source fits it out.
Director Richard Moore said: “We’re really excited to pass this big milestone. Following the approval from Hastings Council in June, everyone has worked hard to get the last bit of funding in place.
“It’s been a testing process but we’re pleased experts agree with the viability of our business plan.”
