CROWDS turned out in their hundreds to enjoy a river-side festival over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Shoreham River Fest returned for its second year celebrating life on the river.

The festival ran on Saturday and Sunday, ending today.

The celebrations included live music in East Street and Coronation Green, featuring local guitarist Piers Clarke as well as varied activities on Beach Green and Adur recreation ground such as food and drink markets, a dragon boat race, a swan race and a classic car show.

There was also a mime artist and a rowing challenge using a gym machine.

People were encouraged to dress up in a seafaring theme.

Jenny Pearce, 30, said: “It was such a lovely, sunny day and everyone was having a great time. I’ll defiantly come back next year.”
