A DISUSED care home could be converted into four new homes.
Brighton and Hove City Council has received an application to convert St Ann’s Rest Home in Stanford Avenue, Brighton, into a pair of one bedroom flats and a couple of two bedroom flats.
The 12-bed care home closed more than a month ago with its residents rehomed to other sites in the city.
The applicants has written to the council to say that the home was not suitable in its current condition and that because of a reduction in referrals, was less than three quarters full.
It was anticipated that the home would have lost £27,500 a year if it remained open.
