A 69-YEAR-OLD has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a crash in which a motorcyclist died.

His Volvo V40 hatchback collided with the motorcyclist outside the Squire and Horse pub on the A29 Bury Hill, West Sussex, on Sunday.

The 20-year-old biker, from Billingshurst who was riding a Honda VFR 800F motorcycle, suffered fatal injuries in the 4.30pm collision.

The car driver was on holiday in the UK from his home in Bermuda, police said.

He suffered shock, and his passenger, a 64-year-old woman also from Bermuda, sustained a broken collar bone, whiplash and shock.

Both were taken to St Richard's Hospital, Chichester, for treatment.

The man who died had been travelling south with another biker, also 20, from Fernhurst, Haslemere, Surrey, riding a Kawasaki ZXR400, who was unhurt.

The driver has been bailed until September 1.
