A FESTIVAL has been hailed a success despite a downpour on Bank Holiday Monday.

Thousands of visitors flocked to Shoreham’s RiverFest over the weekend.

David Steadman, town centres co-ordinator of Adur District Council, said: “With the colourful dragon boat race, activities and musical entertainment at many venues, an incredible atmosphere was enjoyed by everyone.”

He said some events were “dampened” by the rain on Monday but traders said business went well.
