NIGHT-times in Hastings and St Leonards will get a notch brighter when the council replaces orange and yellow street lights with bright white lanterns.
East Sussex County Council is replacing about 5,500 street lights with energy-efficient white LED lanterns over the next three years to save money and cut carbon emissions.
The latest in a series of public exhibitions on the changeover, due to finish in spring 2015, will be held at the Asda in Battle Road, St Leonards, on September 6 from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
Attendees can quiz the council’s street lighting team, while maps showing the changes in Wishing Tree ward will be on display.
