A TERMINALLY-ill cancer patient was joined by family and friends to celebrate Christmas four months early.

Pamela Davis from Lewes was diagnosed with cancer for the second time earlier this year and was told she only had a short time left.

Mrs Davis, who is in her early 50s, is a huge fan of Christmas so friends from the Phoenix Faith Community Church decided to hold a special celebration.

The Portslade United Reformed Church donated its hall for free and it was decked out in decorations and a Christmas tree on Saturday.

The food had a Christmas theme, with a butcher donating the meat for free and there were crackers and paper hats.

An Elvis impersonator also waived his fee to put in a special appearance.

Friend Tessa Lee said: “It also gave Pamela a chance to enjoy Christmas with her granddaughter Emily.

“Pam is the most vibrant, wonderful woman who is approaching this time of her life with so much courage and grace.

“As her family and friends we really want to give her the best of everything we have and let her know just how much we love her.

“It was a lovely celebration and Pam really enjoyed it.”
