Three generations of the same family saw their handiwork rewarded at a horticultural show.
Susan Clements, her daughter-in-law Samantha Clements and granddaughter Eva Clements all scooped awards at Peacehaven Horticultural Society’s annual event at the Meridian Centre.
There were about 380 entries across all categories at the event.
Susan Clements, who lives in Saltdean, won first prize with an owl quilt in the Hand And Machine Handicraft category.
Her daughter-in-law Samantha Clements, who lives in Telscombe with husband Nathan and children Ethan and Eva, picked up several first prizes.
She won the Handmade category with a hand-stitched picnic rug, which turned out to be “too nice to put on the floor”, and picked up the J&M Burnage Trophy 2014 for Best Exhibit in all handicraft and art categories on August 2.
Horticultural shows traditionally focused on farming and agriculture before moving into crafts.
Samantha also came up roses with the Single Rose class and the Single Rose Bowl 2014 for Best Bloom, coming second in the Four Blooms Of Roses category.
And then granddaughter Eva Clements, 5, won the Decorated T-Shirt category along with a third prize for her contribution of an aubergine penguin as an animal made from vegetables.
