A man assaulted in a pub was left with a fractured eye socket, cheek bone and nose as well as cuts and bruises.

The 43-year-old man was attacked in The Royal Standard Pub on East Beach Street in Hastings Old Town between 7.50pm and 8.10pm.

The attack happened on Thursday, August 14, but police only released details today.

Detective Sergeant Tony Webb said: "The victim did not see who did this to him.

"We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with information which could help our investigation."
