A Sussex singer wowed the X Factor judges as the show returned for another year.

Model Chloe Jasmine earned herself four yes votes after a faultless performance of Sonny Burke’s 1948 song Black Coffee.

She will now appear in the next round of the reality contest in which she will sing for the judges in front of thousands at Wembley arena.

Introducing herself on Saturday night’s show, she said she was from Sussex and had been educated at a private boarding school.

When asked what she enjoyed, she replied “Just normal things, polo, Henley, croquet.”

The 23-year-old added: “I’m really hoping they don’t say you are completely rubbish that would be quite sad.

“If I did end up performing at Wembley arena in the next round that would be really amazing thing to say, to throw around the dinner party table.”

However, she had no reason to worry once she stepped in front of the four judges.

Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, Mel B and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini (formerly Cole) appeared impressed from the first note and wasted no time in praising the 23-yer-old.

Mr Walsh said: “Chloe you know what, I love your style, I love your vocal – darling I thought you were fabulous.”

Mr Cowell added: “I really like you. You’re unusual, a bit kooky but you’ve got a really cool authentic bluesy throwback voice.”

Mrs Fernandez-Versini said: “I felt like I was in the 40s in a jazz bar, you were like mesmerising.”

Mel B said: “I think you are awesome head to toe, you’re voice is unique.”

When the judges asked her what he dream was, the model said: “To be happy every day for the rest of my life.”

More Sussex talent is expected on tonight's second show.

Husband and wife Ashley Slater, 53, and Kitten Quinn, 28, from Brighton end up confusing Mr Walsh who tells them: "I thought it was father and daughter" only to be told by Quinn: "No, he's not my father, he's my world".
