A COMMUNITY came together for a fun family festival.
Hangleton Festival in Brighton saw over 500 people flocking to Hangleton Park to enjoy a day of sunshine.
Organised by the Friends of Hangleton Park and run by volunteers, the annual festival sees a celebration of community spirit and opportunities to raise money for charity.
Nick Lewry, chairman of the Friends of the Hangleton Park, said: “We are trying to put something back into the community – it is a little bit of a fundraiser and any additional money we make gets put back into the festival for the next year.
“We had over 500 people turn up and we were very lucky with the weather. It was a happy event with kids smiling and having their faces painted.”
Mr Lewry organises the event along with other Hangleton residents Lyn Densley and David and Dolly Bell.
Councillor Dawn Barnett said: “It went really well and it was a fun day.
“It is lovely to see the community come together. It was busy day.”
